Household Chemical Waste Collection Event

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) is hosting a household chemical waste collection event on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fox Lake Streets Department, 216 Washington Avenue.

Public Works Seasonal Employment

The Village is now accepting applications for a Public Works seasonal position working from approximately May 15 to August 15. The position is for 40 hours per week at $9.00 per hour.

Typical maintenance duties for this seasonal position include landscaping, painting, litter removal, tree trimming and other general maintenance.

Garbage and Recycle Can Exchange Dates

If you enrolled in the garbage and/or recycle can exchange program, Waste Management will be exchanging the cans during the weeks of March 13 and March 20 on your regular service day.

Please place your can(s) at the street the evening before your regular pick-up day and leave them there for the entire day since the exchange truck is separate than the emptying trucks.

Shoveling Sidewalks After Snowfall

Pursuant to Village Ordinance, property owners are required to clear sidewalks of snow and ice within 24 hours of snowfall.

Residents are also responsible for clearing snow at the end of their driveways. Unfortunately, the Village does not have the personnel to clear all sidewalks in the Village.
