"From Prairie to Village" Art Unveiling

In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial, a new piece of public art by local artist Mary Haas will be unveiled at Village Hall on Friday, Nov 23 at 5:00 pm. The unveiling is one of many activities the night of the Tree Lighting in Grayslake's Village Center.

In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial, a new piece of public art by local artist Mary Haas will be unveiled at Village Hall on Friday, Nov 23 at 5:00 pm. Haas's art, created outside or "en plein air", won the "From Prairie to Village" public art call hosted by the Village of Grayslake and the Grayslake Arts Alliance this summer.  The final work will consist of 20 paintings celebrating Illinois and Grayslake history.

The unveiling is one of many activities the night of the Tree Lighting in Grayslake's Village Center.  Activities include:
-Tree Lighting at 5:30 in Centennial Plaza
-Sleigh Rides through downtown Grayslake
-Visits with Santa at The Oasis from 3:00-5:00 pm and 5:30-8:00 pm
-A window decorating competition among local businesses beginning at 5:00 pm
-Grayslake Giving Trees display at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum 12:00 - 8:00 pm
-Puppies for adoption by Save-A-Pet at Fire House Station #1 5:00-8:00 pm
-Grayslake Arts Alliance Art Show and Sale in Village Hall 5:00-8:00 pm
-Grayslake Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Holiday Market at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum 5:00-8:00 pm
