In cooperation with Village contractors and the Village engineers, the Public Works Department is responsible for:
- Maintaining and operating the 4.6 million gallon Water Reservoir and Pump Station
- Maintaining and operating more than 94 miles of water mains
- Maintaining one back-up supply water-well
- Operating two elevated water towers storing 1,000,000 gallons of water
- Reading and maintaining the water meter system
- Maintaining and operating more than 68 miles of sanitary sewers
- Maintaining approximately 79.5 miles of storm sewers and three detention basins
- Maintaining and snow plowing 150 lane-miles of streets and 13 parking lots
- Maintaining over 710 street lights
- Mowing 56 acres of public way 14 times per year (714 acres mowed annually)
- Sweeping 1,075 curb-miles of streets annually
- Responding to over 1,400 citizen requests for service annually
