People Buying Things at the Store

The first floor includes a courtyard used for public programs during good weather. The lobby contains several cases for smaller displays and new acquisitions. A former candy counter from the Grayslake Five and Dime is a particular favorite for long-time residents. The lobby also houses the museum store, which sells local history books and souvenirs.

People in the Community Room

The Community Room, near the lobby, provides a comfortable setting for year round programs and events. It seats up to 40 people with tables and chairs or 60 lecture style. An adjacent kitchenette is ideal for light refreshments.

Classroom

A 425 square foot exhibition gallery hosts changing shows throughout the year. An adjacent classroom provides hands-on learning opportunities for children and fascinating images and information for adults.
