[ARCHIVED] Grayslake Bars and Prohibition

Grayslake’s first known tavern building—called Charlie’s today—became a silent movie theater during Prohibition and was back to being a bar shortly after selling alcohol became legal once again. Learn about who was selling illegal booze, what your favorite watering hole used to be, and more!  The exhibit opens at noon on Saturday, February 8. The first 50 visitors get a prize to take home.
