The public is invited to the grand opening of a new exhibition at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, celebrating local authors and musicians on Saturday, January 25 between noon-4 p.m. Made in Grayslake, Part I features more than 25 authors, as well as local bands including Blush, Chevelle, Eclipse and The Scotch Lads. The exhibition includes books, images, instruments, autographed memorabilia and rare items from the collection of the Grayslake Historical Society. Made in Grayslake, Part II will open on February 22 and will showcase local people, products and industries past and present.
A number of local authors will be present on January 25, including Marilyn Brant, Kathy Bostrom, Jane Hoppe, Randy Rossi and Tina Swartz. Local musician Kyle Magnusson will perform from 1-3 p.m. Magnusson is an accomplished keyboardist and guitarist, whose work ranges from contemporary and classical to progressive rock and funk.
