[ARCHIVED] MOVIE NIGHT CONTEST

Join us on Friday, June 30th at 8:30 p.m. for a special showing of the LEGO Batman Movie in partnership with the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum. Before the movie, at 7:30 pm, children are invited to decorate their toy cars, build toy cars out of LEGOs, or create a shoebox car of their own and pretend they are headed to a night at the drive-in. This event commemorates the Grayslake Family Outdoor Theater, the community’s original drive-in, which was built in 1948 and operated until 1998. Be sure to decorate and create your toy cars at home and arrive by 7:30 pm to enter our contests for chances to win special prizes coordinating with our movie theme! The grand prize is a family membership at the Esper Petersen Family Aquatic Center. Contest categories include:

  • Best original LEGO car
  • Best decorated toy car
  • Best home-built toy car

*Make sure to arrive no later than 7:30 pm to be included in the contest!*

There is also plenty of hands-on history fun for the kids at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum! Be sure to visit this summer and catch the exhibit, A Good Time Was Had By All, which explores the history of entertainment in Grayslake including the Grayslake Family Outdoor Theater, parades, festivals, games, toys, and more. The museum is open this summer on Wednesdays from noon-7 p.m. and Thursdays-Sundays from noon-4 p.m. Visit the Esper Petersen Family Aquatic Center on the web at www.swimgrayslake.com and the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum at www.grayslakeheritagecenter.com for listings of upcoming programs and family-friendly events. See you at the movies!
